One Hundred Shares Nashville was founded in early 2024 by a small group of women with a big vision. Ours was a vision of uniting like-minded women to make significant, collective contributions to vibrant Christian ministries across the greater Nashville area.
The idea was to gather 100+ women, each of whom would pledge a minimum of $1000 annually with a five-year commitment. This commitment results in more than $100,000 available to help transform chosen ministries each year. The money is awarded in the form of grants to selected organizations, enabling the ministries to move forward to a new level of service. The process of selection of grant recipients is detailed, intensive, deliberate, and done with extensive prayer and intention.
One Hundred Shares Nashville was modeled after the original One Hundred Shares, founded in Atlanta in 2007 by Anne Irwin. Anne had a vision to start a Kingdom-oriented giving group and friends Jan Linder, Lucinda Lewis, Minnie Buffington and Karen Loritts came alongside her as Founding Partners of One Hundred Shares Atlanta. One Hundred Shares Atlanta has proven to be a forceful ministry, having awarded 48 grants totaling over $3,000,000 to 41 Christian organizations since 2007.
Since then, the model for One Hundred Shares has expanded to Birmingham, Dallas, Ft. Lauderdale, Houston, San Diego, Tampa Bay, and Wichita. And now . . . . Nashville!!!!
"Remember, this is not about us." -Anne Irwin, Founder of One Hundred Shares
The Gospels tell of two times when Jesus lifted up loaves of bread and fish to the heavens and gave thanks to the Father for their provision for crowds of people that sought Him.
The loaves and fish in the logo are arranged in a circle, symbolizing the never ending abundance of the blessings of the LORD. The hands represent our lifting up to Him the abundance of gifts He has blessed us with for His use to multiply for His fame and glory!
The color of lavender was chosen as a reference of the aroma of Christ we are to be to the world.
Wendy Walker has been a Partner with One Hundred Shares Tampa Bay for several years, where she served on the Board of Trustees. She has been deeply impacted by the Kingdom work she experienced at OHS Tampa Bay and was profoundly moved by the organizations they worked with.
When grandchildren brought Wendy and her husband, David, to Nashville, she felt called to start a One Hundred Shares giving circle there. Newfound friends shared her passion for generous giving to Christian ministries where the impact of donations could be directed to projects of greatest need and appreciated locally. With the help of her family and these friends, along with amazing support and encouragement from 100 Shares Tampa Bay and One Hundred Shares Atlanta, One Hundred Shares Nashville was launched in 2024!
